Avenger Open Space – February Update

January was a very busy month behind the scenes for this project. In short:

• Cindy Keating of WP Parks and Rec and the entire team at the City have been working almost daily on this project and all the details that need to be accomplished and accounted for.
• Woodland Park City Council unanimously voted (7-0) to approve Ordinance No. 1468 authorizing the Mayor to sign the Avenger Purchase and Sale Agreement.
• A contract to purchase was signed by all parties on January 24, contingent upon receipt of a Grant from Great Outdoor Colorado (GOCO).

I am very excited about the City officially being Under Contract, and am optimistic about the GOCO Grant as I believe we have a strong application. GOCO will announce their Grant Recipients on March 15th, 2024 so stay tuned!

In the meantime, Please take this New 4 Question Survey to gauge interest in Financially supporting Teller Trail Team’s ongoing efforts to Create, Maintain and Advocate for better trails in Teller County. 

This will allow us to see the community’s interest in having a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating on their behalf for outdoor recreation opportunities like Avenger Open Space.
